A family house since 1882, Joseph Cartron is rooted in Nuits-Saint-Georges, at the heart of Burgundy’s grand cru vineyards. For well over a century the house has crafted fruit liqueurs, crèmes, ratafia, marc and eaux-de-vie of the highest quality, guided by a charter of stringent fruit selection, natural ingredients and depth of flavour.
Only traditional fruit varieties with a strong aromatic content are chosen, and because every harvest is different, each production is handled with immense care. Maceration and infusion techniques refined over the years give each fruit and berry its own method, drawing the finest extraction and concentration of aroma.
Marcs, fines and aged plum brandy are distilled in stills over a century old and aged in oak barrels, while eaux-de-vie rest in glass demi-johns beneath the roof tiles, their flavour deepening with the passing seasons.
