Founded in 1858 by Hiram Walker, a successful grain merchant, Canadian Club began at a distillery in Walkerville, Ontario, a site chosen for the exceptional quality of its local grains. At a time when whisky was drawn anonymously from a generic barrel at the local store, Walker took a different course.
His whisky was distinctively smooth and easy to drink, and he wanted people to know who made it. Each barrel was branded with his name, a signature of confidence and an assurance of quality.
More than 150 years on, the production process behind these blended whiskies remains largely unchanged, guided by the same dedication to a consistently smooth character. It is a legacy owed as much to what is inside the bottle as to the style long associated with the name.
