It is at the foot of the Himalaya mountains, in the fertile plains of Punjab and Rajasthan regions, that the barleys selected by Amrut is grown. The cereal is then sent to Bangalore where it is malted and transformed. The distillery also sources a peated malt from Scotland, for the elaboration of certain expressions.
Distillery Magic
Distilled in Pos Stills specially designed for the distillery, Amrut whisky mainly ages in bourbon casks, which imparts fruity and fine spicy notes. The whisky barrel are left to mature in the distillery cellar in Bangalore that are located at almost 1,000 meters above sea level in a tropical climate, hence the acceleration of the ageing process in comparison to Europe.
